Credit Hours
NBCC (National Board for Certified Counselors) Credit hours satisfy requirements for LSW/LCSW, LPC, and LMFT. To receive credit, participants must be present for each training day, keep their cameras on, actively participate in this course, complete an evaluation survey, and provide an electronic signature. Confirmation of attendance is monitored and reviewed by the Co-Parenting Specialist™ Training Team under the guidance of Christina McGhee, divorce and children, LLC, who will issue the NBCC credit hour certificate.
Details
This training program offers 16 NBCC Credit Hours to educate counselors and social workers about utilizing a child-centered approach in their work with separating parents. The course provides opportunities for practitioners and professionals to modify these skills to meet the unique needs of their individual practice settings.
The Co-Parenting Specialist™ Training Program, which offers 16 NBCC Credit Hours Training, is $1,297 per person. There are no additional fees required. The cost of credit hours is included in the registration fee.
To participate in this training, attendees must register online. Once the registration form and payment are received, a Zoom Meeting link and Welcome Email will be sent. Post-training, participants will be required to fill out an electronic survey and provide an electronic signature to verify their attendance.
Description of the Program
Most separating parents come to the process emotionally overwhelmed, uncertain about what to do, and unprepared to deal with the complexities of parenting their children out of two homes.
This intensive four-day virtual course will provide professionals working with separating and divorcing parents foundational information, skills, strategies, tools, and resources to guide co-parents toward child-centered solutions and help them achieve more successful long-term outcomes.
Our training team will use a combination of engaging lectures, experiential engagement exercises, comprehensive case studies, media, break-out room exercises, and large group discussions to maximize learning and expand skills.
Upon completion of this course, you will gain:
- A greater awareness of how to help co-parents minimize the overall impact of family change on their children.
- Information about how age and stage of development affect children’s adjustment and how you can use that knowledge when developing parenting plans.
- An understanding of the core tenets of successful co-parenting.
- Knowledge about the emotional aspects of loss and grief for parents and children and how those dynamics show up in the room.
- Skills for addressing complex issues that need to be discussed openly to avoid future co-parenting conflicts.
- New insights into the long-term implications of parental separation and conflict for teens and adult children.
- Tools that will help practitioners cultivate innovative approaches to working with co-parents and crafting parenting plans that address the complexities of parenting out of two homes.
- Practical application skills by engaging in interactive exercises and case studies to implement new strategies and develop scripts for engaging with a variety of clients.
- Strategies to help co-parents shift to a child-centered perspective and gain co-parenting skills.
Christina McGhee, divorce and children, LLC has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7629. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Christina McGhee, divorce and children, LLC is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
