Hi, my name is Christina McGhee. I’m the lead trainer and creator of The Co-Parenting Specialist™ Training Program. I adamantly believe divorce doesn’t have to equal devastation for parents and children, and yet many families fall prey to a system that simply isn’t designed to support them.
Sadly, when parents become caught up in an adversarial process, children suffer life-long consequences.
I started my career educating co-parents to put their children in the center instead of in the middle of their divorce. I quickly learned providing parents with good information, and resources wasn’t enough.
In order to effect real change surrounding divorce in our culture – I also had to educate professionals.
I’ve been speaking to and training those multi-disciplinary communities for nearly two decades, and while some important changes have occurred during the span of my career, I am reminded daily there’s still a lot of work to be done.
Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”
I believe that every person who enrolls in this program has the potential to effect great change, and together, we can turn the tide.
I created The Co-Parenting Specialist™ Training Program based on a few simple principles.
I believe:
- Divorce doesn’t have to be devastating.
- Most parents have the ability to be a child's absolute best resource during family change.
- The defining difference between families that manage the process well and those that don’t comes down to two critical aspects: access to good information and support.
- Good information and support should be available to all families, not just some families.
- The people best placed to supply those two things and positively shape how families experience divorce are the professionals parents come into contact with in the early stages of the process.
- When these first responders to divorce are informed about the needs of children and have access to tools and strategies related to helping co-parents, they can become better identifiers, guides, and referrers.
In addition to the resources, skills, and information you’ll receive in this program, you’ll also have an opportunity to join a community of experienced, like-minded, dedicated changemakers. If you’re interested in raising the collective bar for separating parents and, more importantly, children, I would love to have you join our community.
